Lot#: 317

DESCRIPTION: EPW - Amalric Frères, Geneva, gold and enamel lyre form verge fusee, 71mm height x 44mm width with châtelaine portion excluded, 18K gold (tested) original lyre form HC with blue, black, and red enameling, rear with observation glass over mvt, three stranded gold chain and châtelaine hook at top, white enamel dial with winding aperture at 1:30, KWKS (key not included with this lot), verge escapement, gilt mvt with pierced and foliate scrolled two-footed balance bridge, s#20374. Gross weight of assembled watch 26.4 dwt (41.0 g). The front is opened by depressing a button on the back, which reveals the dial. An attractive and scarce piece that has unfortunately lost a good portion of its enameling but would be an excellent candidate for a professional quality enamel restoration.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, short scratch at perimeter of plate, oxide to coqueret; virtually flawless dial with few minimal small fine scratches and pinpoint nicks; case shows hardly any wear, dent to center front, superb engraving detail, front enameling with large portion of loss throughout central area, some lesser losses at perimeter, rear enameling with losses above and around mvt observation glass, some lesser losses elsewhere; good glass crystal over mvt.
ESTIMATE: $2000 - $3600
